My name is Spencer.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based out of Ventura County, CA. I started Landmark Christian Counseling (LCC) in 2024 as a response to the specific need for specialized support for those in the Christian church struggling to overcome compulsive porn use and other unwanted sexual behaviors. Naturally, supporting couples through healing after a betrayal has become a primary focus of mine as well. While Landmark Christian Counseling has a specific focus on supporting those in the Christian Church, LCC is grateful to work with any client regardless of religion, faith, or worldview.
Just as landmarks serve as places and objects of orientation, Landmark Christian Counseling aims to provide a space in which individuals and couples can be oriented toward healing, empowerment, compassion, and ultimately toward Jesus. I maintain a deep and profound respect for those seeking specialized support like what is offered at Landmark Christian Counseling. Reaching out for help can be really challenging, intimidating, and feel really vulnerable. I am motivated by facilitating a relational space in which shame is dismantled and where compassion, empowerment, and healing are elevated. I personally adhere to the doctrine of the Christian faith and believe there is nothing more healing than knowing and being known by Christ Jesus who I believe is the ultimate example and purveyor of compassion, empowerment and healing. It is an honor to work toward these restorative human experiences with my clients regardless of world view or background.
I grew up in Ventura County, California where my love for nature and the outdoors was established through the area's many wilderness trails and beaches. I lived in Orange County for over a decade before returning back to Ventura County to set roots. While living in Orange County, I graduated from Biola University with my Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministries before moving on to complete my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology through Pepperdine University.
Outside of being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing couples counseling and individual therapy in the Ventura County area, my other favorite job in my career was my time as a Barista at a coffee shop in the Inland Empire. The combination of two of my favorite aspects of life (coffee and people) made that time very special.
